NOMAD TARANGIRE - ACTIVITIES

By 4WD vehicle or on foot, with your own private guide, you'll become submerged in the landscape, with its diverse scenery and animals, and feel a million miles away from modern life. And that is the charm of Tarangire.

It's known for being a birders paradise, with a vast array of different species that can be spotted. If you're looking for something a little larger, it's also one of the best places in Tanzania to see elephants, with herds of several hundred to be seen.

If you stay a few days, it's easy to be caught up in the rhythm of life here; the animals head to the river in the cool of the morning, before seeking shade under the cover of baobabs and other trees. You can head out into the midst of it all for game drives through the vastly different areas surrounding the river itself, from acacia woodland, open grassland savannah's, and around the rock kopjes strewn across the Tarangire Plains.

Days like this can be a profound experience, and so the camp, whilst rugged, is as comfortable as can be: spreading canvas overhead, soft cushions, hot chai and twinkling lanterns. Everything, and more, that a nomad deserves.
